Get Real. Get Tested. Get Treatment.
North Carolina is seeing an increase in the number of reported cases of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. It's important to know your HIV and STD status and the status of your partner(s). In addition to knowing your status, your partners status and using condoms consistently, pre-exposure (PrEP) might be right for you. Learn more about PrEP.
"Get Real. Get Tested. Get Treatment." is a statewide HIV and STD educational and testing effort to encourage everyone to get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
The goals of the "Get Real. Get Tested. Get Treatment." effort are to test people for HIV and STDs, link HIV positive individuals to care and provide HIV and STD education messages to the general public.
Agencies funded by the Communicable Disease Branch for HIV testing are required to register with the CDC GetTested website to link clients to their fixed site HIV/STD testing facilities. All North Carolina local health departments also provide opt out HIV testing in their STD clinics. Find out where to get tested for HIV or STDs.
