World AIDS Day, observed each year on December 1, is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have died from an HIV-related illness. Started in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first-ever global health day.

Share the social media posts below to help raise awareness of HIV, address stigma and other barriers to care, and encourage people to get tested to know their status and prevention options. Don’t forget to use the following hashtags with the sample social media messages below to spark conversations about HIV and highlight progress being made to reduce HIV in the United States.

Let’s Stop HIV Together aims to empower communities, partners, and healthcare providers to promote testing, prevention, and treatment, and reduce HIV stigma. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign is part of the national Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative.
